Nepid Consultants CC is an independent environmental management consultancy based in White River, South Africa.  The company specialises in aquatic ecosystems (rivers and wetlands) in sub-saharan Africa.  The company aims to provide scientifically sound, practical and cost-effective solutions to manage biodiversity risk and meet relevant national and international legal obligations.

Nepid was founded in 2005 by Rob Palmer, who obtained his PhD (1992) in river ecology from Rhodes University, Grahamstown.  The company has a proven track record of providing consulting services mainly to mining and water resource sectors.  Project teams are selected from a large network of associated consultants to suit the needs of individual projects to ensure that the best people are contracted for the work at hand.

Nepid refers to the family Nepidae, which are specialised aquatic bugs, comprising water scorpions.
